HEPATITIS VACCINATIONS
Overview
It is strongly recommended that everyone with a bleeding disorder such as hemophilia receive vaccinations for Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B.
What does it involve?
Both Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccinations can be given subcutaneously to minimize the risk for bleeds.
If you have received Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B vaccinations in the past, ask your doctor whether you need a booster.
There is a combined Hepatitis A/B vaccination (Twinrix) available for adults 18 and older.
Constraints
You may experience fever, headache, tiredness, and pain or irritation at the injection site after receiving a Hepatitis A or B vaccination.
