Overview
Idelvion is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to control and prevent bleeding episodes in children and adults with factor IX deficiency due to hemophilia B. Idelvion can also be used for perioperative (before, during, and after surgery) care and for routine prophylaxis. The technical name of Idelvion is Coagulation factor IX [recombinant], albumin fusion protein.
Idelvion is a clotting factor. Clotting factors work by supplying proteins missing in people with hemophilia.
