Has Any One Had A Second Knee Replacement Done? What Was The Life Span Of Your First One?
I posted on this forum that I had both knees replaced. The first one 20 years ago and the second one 5years ago. It was the second one that developed problems. The lower section worked loose. Was revised in Feb 2018. Doing fine now
I'm a poor example. My left knee was my target joint from 11years old. My attempted knee replacement was shot to hell in 3 short months. We took so many precautions, not to mention I was the first one of the day within that operating theater, no matter...came down to one person not reacting properly to the situation. MRSA is pretty much the nightmare, and after fighting 3 years with replacements, antibiotic blocks, and all kinds of antibiotics, we finally fused it.
Mines 14 yrs old. Depending on the doc and the procedure they can last up to 20. Back 40 yrs ago or so they were like 7.5 -10 yrs max.
Hi Have had both knees replaced. First one done 19 years ago and second one 3 years ago. both doing very well.
Yes, but mine turned out as worst case scenario...I developed MRSA, and had to have antibiotic blocks for 2 years. My knee was finally fused in lieu of amputation...if I were to make any kind of recommendation to this, try to get your surgery scheduled as early as possible do your infection risk chance decreases. As to how long they last, I was told 15 to.20 years as bleeding into this joint would not cause it would not have the same problem with the bones dying
