I Am Pregnant And Have A Factor 7 Deficiency. Any Factor 7 Ladies Have Advice For A Safe Pregnancy And Delivery?
I am factor 8 and am a 1st time mom, my son is 7months now. For me I was high risk but I met with my OB and my Hemotologist and had my levels test frequently throughout pregnancy. Hormones generally raise your levels enough, if not they were going to give me a dose of factor to be safe if needed. Just say in contact with your doctors and have everyone on the same page. 1 thing I learned is meet with anastesia prior to delivery and have a writtten order if you are allowed to have a spinal (for pain) , i unfortunately was unable to get nothing and no c-section unless it was emergency because anestesia wouldnt allow it.
You are very welcome! I did have a natural birth but the pain was rough, they wouldn’t give me anything for the contractions. Also, for post birth, make sure they do a follow up on your levels. My hemo never did and isnt very attentive to me, my pcp just told me at my yearly physical that all my levels were extremely low after birth and did not recover very much and could tell because I was still pale-ish. My body personally never compensated for the post birth and high dose of hormones leaving the body.
Thank you! This helpful. My hematologist will not approve an epidural due to the bleeding risk. I am having my factors checked every 8 weeks now and then monthly when it gets closer. They also want me to have a natural birth but scheduled if that makes sense so I can get Novaseven before and post delivery. I will ask about meeting with the anesthesiologist. They have mentioned them during my appointments.
